DVDs and home videocassettes (“Videos”)
are intended for home use only, and the public performance
of these videos requires a separate license.
The MPLC provides that license.
The MPLC Umbrella License is a reasonably
priced facility-based license which allows any organization to publicly
perform Videos produced by MPLC’s Member Licensors. The license
is generally for one year, with the license fee based upon
a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the type of facility
in which videos are shown, the number of exhibitions to be held
throughout the year, and the number of attendees anticipated per
exhibition. The license does not cover showings where admission
is charged or where specific titles are publicly advertised.
The MPLC Member Licensees may show any licensed movie from
the tens of thousands of titles from the major Hollywood
studios and more than 90 other diverse producers. The MPLC
Member Licensees may obtain Videos whether purchased or rented
from any legitimate source, and show them legally. The MPLC
Umbrella License is the cost effective and convenient
legal solution to video showings by providing total coverage
for unlimited numbers of video exhibitions.
The licensing process is simple. Just call (800)
